I think your poem and website is appropriate for what you want. I have heard fantastic things about this website and I hope you get your house!

Ok, I’ll be honest, and I hope you take it as constructive criticism.  I do not mean to be offensive at all.

I think this needs lots of work.  There’s only a very scarce homepage, and then a registry page where you’re asking for money.   I think you need more pages in there as a buffer.   How about local attractions?  More photos from your clearly very talented photographer?  Schedule of events for the big day?  Anything!

Also, the poem.  It’s not realllly a poem, which makes very strange to read.  I think my face was probably contorted into a “wtf”-look while I was reading it.  I would either: 1. make it a real poem or 2. ditch the concept of poetry.   Yeah, it’s awkward to ask people for money.  But I think a paragrah about why you don’t need household items, and future goals you have togerher (home ownership), is a much more mature and appropriate way to ask for cash.

I’m sorry to say, because you look super cute in your pictures and I know you mean well, that I would be turned off as a guest.  I’d probably buy you a blender and call it a day.   So to avoid this happening, I think your site requires some tweaking.    Also, perhaps I am alone in this, and I hope some other bees chip in so I can see if I’m crazy or not.  My wedding is coming up soon and I’ve turned into a psycho as of late…cracking under pressure I guess.   :   Also, I’m from NJ…I have major NJ love.  I know where you’re having you wedding and it’s a beautiful location–congratulations and I hope I haven’t upset you!

I think it it a great idea. I am not sure if your guests would like it, but I personally think it looks great, is easy and a one stop shop. Wink

@nicole18ashley: hm, that makes it trickier.   Ok, well what if you make a regular wedding website (you know, you’ve seen them on theknot.com, etc…) and under the “registry” tab just link it to your page on ourwishingwell.com.

mywedding.com has some great free designs. On my website I included info about my wedding events and locations, bridal party photos/stories, photos of us dating from the beginning, travel info, attraction info, guest book and a place for music suggestions. I suggest adding a few more pages so it doesn’t just look like you made this site to ask for $. People love details and love seeing photos of the couples too so that could be a nice addition 🙂
