Here’s a pic of my set !!
Here’s a pic of my set !!
I just wanted to drop in and say that I voted yes but I totally misunderstood the question! I don’t think yellow gold is outdated at all, and your set is especially gorgeous!
Yellow gold is back with a vengence and your set is gorgeous! I didn’t wear yellow gold for years (since the 90’s), but now I find myself buying yellow to mix with my white gold.
Yellow can be very nice, i especially love it with colored gemstones.
I prefer white gold for myself, but there’s nothing wrong with yellow gold. Its just not my style. Almost all of my jewlery is silver-based. That said, your set looks like white gold in those photos with the exception of the e-ring in your first pic. I think your set looks beautiful either way.
Here’s my original ERing, set in 18K yellow gold. The band is 14K.
Yellow gold is classic and will never be outdated. Gold IS yellow, and gold is almost always highly valued. However, white metals have been more popular for engagement jewelry for many, many years. People love to say that yellow gold is “coming back”, but it never really has. Most jewelers don’t carry much in terms of yellow gold engagement jewelry, although it can usually be ordered.
My set is 18K gold. I love the beautiful glow of yellow gold, and never have to worry about replating to keep it bright. Blue Nile didn’t offer the cathedral setting in yellow gold, but they were willing to have it made, so that’s what we did.
Yellow gold will never be outdated. it’s a classic that will never fade! 🙂
I prefer white metals but your set is very pretty.
Yellow gold is much more popular in Europe than the US. When my parents went to Italy recently, they said all the jewelry stores carried yellow gold pieces in stock – very few white or rose gold.
I love yellow gold 🙂 I got my engagement ring in white gold, basically because it never occurred to me not to. In all the engagement ring ads I grew up with, it was always white metal!
But DH wanted a two-tone white and yellow gold band, and that inspired me to look into yellow gold bands, so I could have a mixed set and color coordinate with him. I love my dainty yellow gold eternity band. Mixing metals is definitely more of a current trend, so while it might be dated eventually, right now it’s not.
I intend on always wearing my current engagement ring when I’m wearing a set, but getting yellow gold or two-tone bands for when I want to mix it up or wear one ring. I don’t care if my rings ever look dated because I’m happy to admit that I got married in 2014.
Love it! So warm and buttery and luxurious IMO. It really makes any pave diamonds stand out too. I think it’s not as popular right now but that’s what makes it unique. I get so many compliments on my ring in public. Some people even ask if it’s rose gold.
I love yellow gold on certain skin tones, I wish it matched well with mine. Some of my favorite rings on the bee are yellow gold sets 🙂 yours is lovely, by the way!
Defintely making a comeback. The more I see it, the more I like it!
I sometimes wish my set was yellow gold! I love yellow gold and it’s pretty much all I ever wear as my every day jewelry. Not outdated!
