swonderful:  Thanks! We call her “Nemi” most of the time, though.  Your kitty is adorable – I love all-gray cats.

I have three smaller dogs.

#1- Love: putting his chin on my lap for a chin scratch. Dislike: I have to carry him outside in the morning for their first pee break. He’s not a morning dog.

#2- Love: the way she sprawls out like a bear rug when tired. Dislike: stares at the floor while I’m in the kitchen. I always get comments asking if I ever feed her…

#3- Love: she’s the lapdog. Whenever I sit I have a dog on my lap. Dislike: she loves socks- and only takes the ones that I’ve laid out to wear for the day (full laundry hamper on the floor and it’s ignored)

Our pup is 6 years old, 10 lbs of white fluff.  He’s super clever with a strong personality….

Love:

– He plays chase hilariously (he will take turns chasing you and then you chase him)

– He can cuddle with the best of them

-His kisses aren’t slobbery and usually he can control the amount of kisses he gives

– He’s overall very interactive- you can ask him questions and he’ll react in certain ways based on the tone and words used

Not so much love:

– He’s a creature of routine, which means if I try to sleep in, he is in my face with a toy trying to wake me up.  He doesn’t need me to wake up for potty, so this is purely attention based.

– He chews his nails into daggers as a nervous/boredom tick.  This makes them lethal when he’s wrestling us

– He’s incredibly stubborn.  He knows when listening is in his benefit and if it’s not, he will choose to listen on his own accord

We have two dogs who I absolutely adore!

Our first is a beagle/australian shepherd and I love that he is a great listener, he is super well trained (thanks to Darling Husband, he had him before we met). He’s great on a leash, doesn’t pull and will stay right with you so it’s easy to walk him and he loves to cuddle, he’ll snuggle up right next to you and is content to lay with you for hours. However, he has no sense of urgency at all in the mornings or if he’s laying down and you want him to get up it takes FOREVER, he gets up slowly and then has stretch his front legs and then his back legs, etc before he’s ready to go. He also licks like crazy, lovingly, but it’s still gross when he catches you off guard in the face. For reference this is him:

Our other dog is my puppy, an australian shepherd, and she’s fantastic. She’s super playful and full of energy, she’s very loveable and easy to cuddle. She catches frisbees like a boss and she’s super cute. However, since she’s a puppy her neverending energy can be exhausting sometimes, she doesn’t walk on a leash well (always pulling) and she’s very afraid of new people and other dogs, as well as the vaccuum cleaner. She loves people she just needs a second to warm up to them on her own terms. This is her:

Burney is our rescue dog we got in September 2013. He will be 2 this February.

Love: His cuddles. He will lay on the couch with me and take naps all the time. He also is a very vocal dog which sometimes I hate and sometimes I love. If he wants us to play with him or let him out, he does this whining/yodeling that will eventually turn into a bark to get our attention.  I seriously think he thinks he is talking to us.

Dislike: HE GETS INTO EVERYTHING. He is a very curious dog who enjoys devouring any paper towels, socks, gloves or anything he can get his paws on. He also wakes us up every morning around 6.

I have a Rottweiler.  Gosh darnit he is my best friend.  Honestly,  he understands my moods and knows how to make me feel better with his doggie kisses and playful nudges.  He is also a great protector for my household BUT, sheesh, is he a handful.  When he wants something he lets you know it.  Also, being a Rottie, as an owner I have to constant ly keep him in training and be consistent with my commands otherwise his instinct to be in control will take over.  He is also super expensive.  LOL!  I swear I am going to find a way to claim him as a dependent on my tax return one day.

My dogs are stinky, they shed and they wake me up first thing in the morning every single day- and I love every minute of it. I wouldn’t change a thing about them- here’s a pic of my girl ringing in the new year.

I love how she cuddles with me and Darling Husband when we wake up and how she “asks” to play right after coming from outside.  She only plays with her toys and will not go outside if it’s raining.  Sometimes she does things a human would: we used to have this neighbor, he was a cute young man, 18-19 yrs old.  She loved to get belly rubs from him all the time; she liked him so much she peed from joy when he was petting her, until the day she saw him with his girlfriend.  As soon as she saw the girlfriend, my baby changed with him; she totally ignored him!  When he called her name, she wouldn’t even look at him and no more asking for belly rubs, this was a doggy scorned!  We crack up every time we remember this.
