I love to shop but I hate the idea of the couple returning what I select.  I don’t care for the idea of being restricted by a registry plus it is just less of a hastle for me to give them money and then they can buy whatever they want, from the registry or not.  Less hastle for me and they get exactly what they want!

I usually buy online through the registry. This avoids having to remember bringing the gift to the wedding, since it gets shipped directly to the couple.

Cash, it is just the easiest thing to do.  Darling Husband also knows that if he sends me to look at registries I will come back with stuff for us too, so cash is cheaper for him, LOL.

Usually I check out the registry, but I prefer gift cards to popular stores like Target, Bed Bath & Beyond , etc so the couple can have more control and bang for the bucks. People usually keep in line with only traditional items for the wedding registry ( sheets, silverware, toaster etc etc), when in reality they may really want a Keurig or something cool but would never ask for it.

We always try to buy something for the kitchen because we both love to cook/bake. But we always have it shipped to their house, we hardly ever bring a gift to the wedding. But we also always bring a card with a note that says the gift is arriving at their house.

I do registry and always have it ship to their address instead of bringing it to the wedding.

It totally depends on the person and my relationship with them.  I’ve given off-registry, from the registry, money, gift cards and have held my nose and given to honeyfund as well.  lol

I don’t really like giving money, to be honest…but if I know that’s what the couple really really want, then I will do it.

When I buy off registry, it’s stuff that I know for certain the couple will like because we are good friends/family.

I try to stick to their registry unless I see something that I think they would really, really love that’s not listed or from another store.

@brideatbeach: I know! A ton of friends have expressed this frustration to me.  At the last wedding we went to, I was in charge (with assistance from my Fiance) of moving the gifts from the ceremony location to the reception location. It was a pain and most brides don’t get married and party all in the same room!

I like to give china or crystal off the registry.  I like the idea of buying something they’ll have forever. 🙂

I have never brought a gift to a wedding.  I always just have it sent.

Unless it was a VERY close friend or family member, it’s either off the registry or a gift card/cash. For close family members, I think I might buy something a little personal on top of the registry or gc/cash. Like for my brothers or sister one day, I’d probably get some sort of picture frame or other wedding memorabilia for them.
