yes, we had talked about it. That’s why he planned a nice proposal for my birthday. Somehow, when his friend convinced him that proposing on my birthday was rude (I wouldn’t have thought so, but his best friend was married and his whole family assured him that it was bad form), he felt compelled to propose before my birthday, which was only 4 days away. For some reason, that flummoxed him so much that he didn’t just move the nice plans up by four days.
I did hear someone ask him about the proposal a few weeks after abd his response was “yeah, so I really screwed that up.” So, at least he knew it was lackluster?

yes! Involve the dog all I’ll be very happy! We’re going away this weekend to a cabin with the dog. Last time we were up there I told him he missed the chance for a proposal and it would’ve been perfect. He agreed but I doubt he’ll do it this time up either 😂

oh no! I was once proposed to at my brothers house while cleaning his dogs poop off the floor. It was someone I had been with for a very short time and I didn’t think we were that serious.
oh the things we dated when we were younger.

This is an interesting thread. I am already married, but never wanted family or friends around for the proposal. No fuss, just me and him.
I was shocked when he proposed, and honestly I think he surprised himself too 😂. The question just kinda slipped out one evening when we were hanging out. I’ve asked him what he would’ve done had he planned something, and his answers are sweet and romantic, but honestly, what actually happened was just so true to his personality that I wouldn’t have it any other way.

your story reminded me: once when I was younger (maybe barely 21?) I’d been dating this guy for like 2 months. He walked me to my door one night, and I can’t remember the exact conversation but basically he was asking me if I’d ever consider marrying him someday. I liked him and things were going good so I said yes, if things work out someday I might.
Next thing I know he’s saying “wow I can’t believe we are engaged!” I shut that down quickly. We were together maybe another month. Oh to be young.
