Besides the $70 per plate meal for the 10 people who didn’t show up… nothing.

favors, chair covers, sit down dinner, limo, cloth napkins and fine china. there are probably others but those are the ones that come to mind

I regret upgrading our lighting to do color washes on the walls, it was kind of unnecessary and super expensive. Also, our flowers were really overpriced, I should have shopped around (not cut back since I really ordered the minimal). And even though I LOVED our invitations, they were really really expensive and everyone just threw them away. So.. I don’t know..

What I did NOT regret spending $ on was definitely our band, DOC, photographer, videographer and venue (including food).

We still haven’t gotten ANY compliments about the cool lighting or our flowers, but people still rave about our band and the food. And our pictures were awesome. Our DOC saved us from so many mishaps and made our day totally stress free, and our wedding video speaks for itself ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh the open bar was also something that was TOTALLY worth it!! Our guests thanked us for it and really appreciated all the choices available.

im spending too much in food, so i will have 200 guest, so i got a beautiful cake but is will be only for 80 people, so i wont cut the cake that day, i will do it in the party that we will have the day after the wedding, (less people attending)

i spend to much in flutes ( not really worth it) there is lots of pretty ones that arent too expesive.

DIY! projects, are good

no save the dates

favors at reception. i wont give any bublles or petals at the guess to toss at church.

I have no regrets! Everything I spent money on was so worth it & made our day complete!

Plus being underbudget helped me to have no regrets! ๐Ÿ™‚

We’re not “wasting” money on save the dates (ugh, there’s no way I’d deal with another paper project!), an engagement shoot (which is really more a waste of time and computer space than anything), and most of the crafts and extra stuff–uplighting, upgraded chairs, chair covers, monogramed _________, colored linens, favors, videography (yay friendors), special transportation, etc. etc. KISS method.

I’m sort of torn on my crazy expensive invites…because they were crazy expensive, a lot of work and a lot of time and a lot of stress. And we got lots of compliments, but in the end, people just throw them away.

At the same time, when you’re a paper person, you sort of live for these moments so you can indulge yourself, so in that sense, regret is a bit too strong a word.

Just from lurking around the bee, the number-one answer most brides say that they were fine with forgoing (or wish they’d forgone) seems to be favors.

i haven’t gotten married yet, but these are the things we are NOT doing because we think they’re a waste.

-transportation to/from venues. we are just gonna drive in a regular old car (we both have relatively nice ones).

-chair covers–come on, is anyone really gonna notice when their ass is in them?

-a cake. no cake for us! wayyyy too pricey.

I am sort of regretting the amount that we are paying for our photographer. 3,000 is a huge chunk of our wedding budget. we are also paying 600 dollars for our officiant. seems a bit large for him to show up for 30 minutes?

I didn’t do STDs because I thought it would be a waste. If I had it to do over again, I would have had a highly personal shindig in a chuch with a BBQ in our backyard afterwards inviting all our family and friends a la Mrs. Cheese.

flowers….I thought i was getting a really sweet, creative deal…Could of gotten them much cheaper anywhere else….

I decided to go on reputation rather than shopping around.

With that said, I should of SPENT more money on a photographer. Mine was great, but I paid for what I got ๐Ÿ˜‰

i REALLy dont want to offend anyone, but i just dont get uplighting.  maybe there is something mystical and magical about it that i personally am just missing, but to me, i wouldn’t spend the money.

i also don’t see the point of a special cake server or toasting flutes or things engraved with our names/wedding date.  if that’s your thing, power to you- it’s a money saver to nix these in my mind though.
