This has happened a few times and I don’t know what I’m supposed to say in response!
One time a friend was saying she still hadn’t met my Boyfriend or Best Friend (now FI) yet, and my other friend said, “He’s pretty hot!” All I could think of to blurt out was, “Thanks!… He’d be glad you think so.” Cue awkward silence.
Another time my sister’s friend said she was looking at my photos on facebook and told me, “Your Boyfriend or Best Friend is really hot!” I just started laughing, and then I was worried she would think I was laughing at her, so I just said, “Thanks!” again.
So, I’m glad people think he’s handsome, but I get so awkward about it! What should I say? Am I supposed to compliment their BF/FI/husband back? But that would make it even more awkward, right? Has this happened to you?

Yep, I say “Thanks!” There really isn’t much else you an say unless you are a jealous person and find someone else saying your SO is hot offensive.

Thanks I know I’m a lucky girl!

I would probably laugh and say thank you

If he’s around I grab his butt and say ‘he’s got a great @$$ too’
JK….well, maybe if I’m drinking.

I would say, “Thanks! Yes he is real hot, and always burn my finger! Ha ha.”
I really don’t mind at all because that means I have picked an attractive guy and I have good taste, right? 🙂

Oops I just told another Bee her husband is a hottie! I hope she doesn’t get upset!
I always say “I know, and he knows too so don’t tell him LOL” or something along those lines.

I say “Thank you, I picked him out myself” LOL!

@troubled: hahahaha that would be a great response!
I normally just say well I think so too, but now typing it maybe that sounds kinda like I am saying uh yeah duh to the person. Maybe I will switch it up to something on this thread.

I say, “I sure think so!” And leave it at that. My grandma is kind of odd, she is very attracted to younger men and happens to be single at the moment so she (i know, this is totally weird) hits on my husband all the time. Whenever she sees us, she literally forgets i’m in the room and can’t stop touching him. That’s the kind of thing that makes me uncomfortable and quite frankly a little put off.

@Moose1209: exactly this. I might add or change it to “I think so too, but I am biased because I am marrying him”
Its a compliment.

@Belle2Be: I’ve been tempted to tell other bees their FI/husband is a hottie, but I’m too scared they’ll think I’m a weirdo or that I’ll make them feel as awkward about it as I do, lol! I’m sure she’ll be flattered though! I’m flattered and awkward at the same time when it happens.
@flamingred: I love it!! I think I’ll adopt that phrase if you don’t mind!
