Here are a few inspiration pictures… can you pick a few words for how you would describe our vision? Traditional? Vintage? Eclectic? Something else? I’d love to see if my ideas are coming through in reality…
Plans for reception:
Behind the head table will be a large, ceiling-to-floor set of doors. This will go in front of it:
Thinking about this for our table numbers:

modern. It looks like a wedding of today’s times.

Minimalistic modern. I love the lanterns above the table.

It is the same as the creator, unique, fun, approachable. Very Modern

letsdothis2016: Fun, modern, casual
Although the doors don’t really match the modern vibe. I guess if I’m trying to incorporate them as well I’d say “trendy”.

Artsy. (Modern art) There was a art school nearby in my hometown when I was a kid, and everything the students ever did/created/wore etc looked something that would go perfectly with this. Do you or/and your Fiance happen to be the artsy kind of people? Haha

Modern was the word that came to my mind before i saw other bees posts.

I also had ‘modern’ in mind! Honestly! 😉 Along with ‘bright’ and ‘fun’. Most definitely not vintage or eclectic.
Just a thought- I think your dominant theme is the yellow and grey, so I’d go further with it and it will give a much more consistent look. I’m not 100% sure the greenery of the letters on the door or the candles or the soft romantic look of the cake quite fits the acid yellow and grey theme. I’d find a way to blend it , so maybe instead of greenery in the glass pots put some pebbles in different greys or a little yellow flower in each pot, grey/yellow ribbon or piped dots on the cake, some yellow bordering on the side of the photo table numbers etc.

- Wedding: April 2017 - Hogarths, Solihull
Modern and stylish.
And also – something my Hairdresser would plan as Grey and Yellow are her favourite colours haha

I can’t thank you all for helping me breath a sigh of RELIEF!!! If I were to use a few words to describe what we were going for, I’d hands down say simple and modern. One poster mentioned casual… can’t really say I’d like the term casual as that makes me think of jeans but I also agree it’s not SUPER formal in that we have a five course meal, black tie, etc. And theatrejulia, you are too sweet 🙂
I totally agree that the doors don’t really fit quite right. As we are getting married outdoors and there isn’t really a way to block the guests’ views of us prior to walking down the aisle. I’ll keep that in mind- thanks!
Too funny! We’re not artsy (at least I don’t think we are) but Fiance *thinks* he stays up with the trends (he claims he was one of the first that brought back the bow-tie look a few years ago). We just love simple looks! Thanks!!
Thank you for the thoughts!! It’s definitely important to me to keep things consistent and I very much appreciate your thoughts!! We are meeting with the baker next week to discuss thoughts on designs (just happened to love this design of hers as it was rather simple). I’ll show her pictures of other parts of the wedding and ask for guidance (even dots on the cake sound great). And we are planning to put one flower in each of the “flower” glass vases and keep the others with candles. Were you thinking of flowers in half and rocks in the other (and get rid of the candles)? And for the table numbers, nix the glitter for yellow bordering? Thank you again for the ideas!

i’d say casual modern (as opposed to the super sleek and formal modern)

Minimalistic, contemporary, cheerful..

Agreee with the casual modern. The doors don’t really fit the vibe though but would work if they were painted a dark grey with thick plastic letters instead of the greenery.
