I was thinking about doing all different bridesmaid dresses for my 8 bridesmaids in a champagne color. Will that be too fussy?

I think it would look nice! You can find lots of photos of mismatch styles, same color on Pinterest. My bridesmaids are wearing different dresses in the same color/fabric. They’re getting their dresses from Alfred Angelo.
That’s what I did and I think they looked great! I had two colors, champagne and purple. Three were in purple, two in champagne. I thought they were gorgeous!
I would suggest that the dresses be of the same fabric and length. Different fabrics reflect and absorb the dye differently which could affect the way the dresses photograph.
Other than that, different dresses will give each girl the chance to pick a dress that best flatters her body type.
I like the idea of it. I personally didn’t go for that because finding one dress for 7 bridesmaids was much easier!
@mf10252014: It may not help since I only have 2 attendents but I used the same color for the dresses and the girls chose whichever dresses they liked best. This was the final decision (not in green, they are in Navy):
Maid of honor is in floor length and Bridesmaid or Best Man is in the short one. Sorry it’s so huge.
This is a very thoughtful way of allowing each girl to choose a flattering style.

You will see that some used the same fabric, some didn’t.
@mf10252014: I was a bridesmaid this summer and that’s what we did! Bill Levkoff chiffon dresses in ‘holly’ but only 2 of the 7 of us picked the same style! I’m the one with straps next to the bride.
I think it’s a great way to let the BMs pick styles they are comfortable with and look great in! I would definitely recommend picking one designer, one fabric, one color. I think if you mix designers and fabrics it starts to look a bit disjointed. I’ve got 8 BMs and we are doing two different dresses.
I did that with Alfred Angelo dresses! They all looked great together and the color made things cohesive. I would specify a fabric and length, too, to help unify the look.
I think it is a great idea!! Pictures I have seen like that are super pretty!
@mf10252014: It will not be too fussy but I do reccommend choosing Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses from the same designer in different styles. You can find a lot of these at dessy.com and they are available everywhere. It will make things a lot easier on your BM’s and help to make the look a little more structured. I wanted to do this with my wedding but most of my girls wanted one of the dresses so I just went with that one for everyone. oh well 🙂
I was in a wedding recently and we were supposed to buy a cream colored non bridesmaid, bridesmaid dress. It was so hard to get a good color becuase it couldnt be too ivory and it couldnt be too pink. It worked okay but it was kind of stressful.
I will say that I am one that likes the bride to choose my dress for me though so it all depends on your circle of friends.
That’s what we are doing for daughters wedding. All the girls have very different body types. She picked the color and fabric and then they could pick the dress they found most flattering from the same designer. Of the 6 they all picked something different.
