- Wedding: October 2015
So, when Fiance and I met with the priest, he asked if we had given any thought to who our maid of honor and best man would be so he could write them in as the official witnesses. I’ve known who I would ask for a very long time and wrote her name in the space. So, now that it’s on paper, I figure even though the wedding is 2 years away, I might as well ask her now. We’ve been best friends since we were in elementary school. I don’t see that changing in just 2 years.
Now, she’s up in the New England area of the country for school while I’m here in Texas, so we don’t get to see each other very often and I wanted to ask her in person, but she’s coming back down for winter break. We’ve been talking for a long time about getting matching piercings and I got the idea to do so when she gets here. I found a site that carries nice body jewelry, like wouldn’t be out of place at a fine jewelry store, and was thinking of “proposing” to her with matching jewelry for our piercings that are pretty enough to wear for the wedding.
We have different jewelry tastes, so it would be the same design, but different colors to go with our color palette and other jewelry. Like, mine would have a yellow metal with either a clear or purple stone and hers would be a silver/white metal with a blue stone. Maybe also throw something peridot-esque in as well since we’re both August babies. But yea, put it in a ring box, drop down on one knee, long romantic speech. Obviously I wouldn’t drag all the bridesmaids to the piercing parlor, but over time, I may get the other bridesmaids jewelry as well when I ask, but I like the idea of sharing that with her as Maid/Matron of Honor and wearing matching pieces on the day of. I don’t know, but what do y’all think so far? Any other suggestions on how to ask?
