Bess,
I’ve received my White by VW dress (its not in perfect condition, details on another post). I feel like it is ‘missing something’ but I cant really tell. I feel fat in this dress..
What do you think, bees? Sash, crytal belt ? or another dress?

you’re not fat. you have a really small waist but the bottom accentuates your hips which is odd since it’s an a-line and should be pretty flattering. i’m not sure what it is. maybe the front pleats?
the dress does look like it’s missing something. i remember looking at this dress online earlier and i had to go back to the db website to refresh my memory. they showed it with the black horsehair sash so maybe a sash would help make it less plain?
i also read some of the comments on this dress:
“That being said I have a very small bust (which I think is key) and I am about a size 00-0, so I think that I had the right body type for this dress. I think someone who has more curves or a bigger bust might feel constricted in this dress (but who knows give it a shot).”
“The big bow accessory I feel is completely necessary for this dress otherwise it’s a little bland.”

I think it’s lovely and you definitely don’t look fat. I really like the lacy cover-up! I’d try a crystal sash only if you plan on ditching the lace cover-up, I feel like that’s it’s own show piece and a sash might make it too much.
I hope you start to love yourself in your dress- you look great!

You don’t look fat at all! However, I do think that it looks a little small on you in the waist? Maybe if it were a little looser the a-line would fall more naturally. I also agree that there should be a belt or somethin

I love the cover up! What a great touch! I also agree that a blingy belt or something might sit better on you and highlight your waist!

You don’t look fat at all. I do feel like it may look puffier around your waist b/c it needs to be hemmed so it isn’t falling properly. I think it will look more flattering if you could get the skirt taken in so it’s is a bit more A line. I think that would help.

Its funny.. in fact i dont have a small waist but my bottom is one size larger than upper body
. Thats why i chose a-line dress. I think it is the built-in corset makes the waist looks small or maybe just the angle of the photo.
I’m thinking of wearing the lace top for the ceremony and go without the top + a sash for reception. I dont like the big bow on the model, it is pretty but just not me. How about having a crystal sash and make a little bow in front like the picture below? Black or Ivory?

A full petticoat would pop the bottom out where it’s falling down around your hips and give it that perfect A line. I agree with PP’s… a beaded belt or sash would look fantastic (beautiful dress- you look awesome!)

YOU LOOK ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and NOT FAT! you look stunning!
I actually bought and ordered this exact same dress for my November wedding
I know exactly what you mean, by debating to add a sash/belt! I was thinking about adding a pearl sash or crystal/thin belt to give it a hint of bling and shine. I’m thinking of something not too over powering, because the lace detail of the dress is so beautiful. Plus, I agree with the girls who have left comments, a full petticoat will pop out the bottom, and sash will accentuate your waist!
I was even thinking of making it a sweetheart neckline, what do you think?

I think the dress looks great on you. I personally prefer it without the top shear layer. I also agree with making it into a sweet heart neackline will really give it some kick! I would see about adding a belt with beading of crystal on it to make you stand out more!
Your waist looks super tiny also:)
Beautiful Dress!
