Hi there- BF and I just found out that there are some small family diamonds availble to be reset if we’d like. These were side stones on his grandmother’s right (big sister reset the main stone). I thought it wuold be lovely to reset them with some stones from my family. My grandmother’s ring is still intact with a .3-.5c center stone and 4 smaller channel-set side stones.
What do you think about combining all of these into a new setting? We could add another stone if needed for balance, but I’m envisioning something like a mixed-size cluster. Does anyone have anything like this? Is this an awful idea??

I think that’s a really pretty idea! Bario Neal has some super cute clusters, if you want to check them out!

Take all the stones you have to a jeweller and ask what can be done with them. It sounds ike a lovely idea, a truely blended ring

hintsofjoy WOW! Thank you, this Bario Neal ring is exactly what I have been envisioning. AND the largest stone is only .4c, so I dont’ have to worry that my stones will be so mcuh smaller that it won’t really work at all.
rosalily Thank you 🙂 The thought of having something to represent both of our families me such warm fuzzies that I almost don’t care if it ends up looking a little hodge-podge.

I agree, sounds beautiful! Love your idea, and that’s so meaningful that you’d be combining family heirlooms in your ring!
Mine is just one stone (solitaire) and it’s a stone from my fiance’s grandmother, nothing from my family, but the fact that it’s a family heirloom means so much!

We’re engaged! He proposed with a temporary ring and we’re going to get to work resetting the stones. 😊😊😊😊
