I won’t buy anything from Etsy.  I know too many people that got screwed from that site from bad vendors and had a heck of a time getting their money back.  My friend got a ring from there and it was a complete piece of crap and she had to fight to get a refund even though she was in the return window and it was not a custom piece.  And I’m not talking just jewelry; I know people that bought other things that had bad experiences.

No thanks.

Wedding bands from Etsy? Heck yes!! Even my engagement ring is from Etsy.

The bottom band is a picture I just recieved today of my finished product. They are shipping it out tomorrow, I can’t wait for it!

Etsy is just like other marketplaces. Some vendors are great. Others, not so much.

I recommend only shopping for jewelry from vendors with a lot of transactions. I feel most comfortable with vendors with 200+ transactions and a 14-30 day return policy.   That means they’re more likely to be real businesses who with reputations they don’t want to risk.

I love Etsy and did buy two wedding bands and a right hand ring all at the same time from a seller with hundreds of good reviews. The rings I ordered were all sterling silver with CZ as I wasn’t sure if I’d like wearing a band and didn’t want to spend more right away. They arrived all the way from Ukraine about two weeks before I got married. And they were too small. I ordered the right hand ring in the same size as my e-ring and I couldn’t even get it on my finger. The two small bands I ordered a half size larger and I could get them on but had major muffin top finger and they were super uncomfortable. The seller said there’s no way they could not be the exact correct size. His return policy states no returns on sale items, which these were all 20% off. He said he would let me return them but would only refund about 50% of the price. I was planning to do that because something is better than nothing but then the two week return policy ended before I sent them. So it can be a gamble. You could end up with something unique and amazing or waste your money and end up with useless jewelry.

My e-ring (moissanite) and wedding band (lab diamonds) are both from Etsy, and I had nothing but a wonderful experience, personally! Though I totally get the concern.

I will echo the other people’s suggestion of looking at the number of reviews and transactions and their return policy. Also, oftentimes (including in the case of where my rings are from) you’ll discover that the Etsy shops are just extensions of actual brick-and-mortar company that has a physical store somewhere. My fiancé and I even went so far as to look up reviews of their physical shop as well before deciding to go with them.

All the reviews were amazing, and now after working with them and seeing the final products, I see why! And we are very happy with our decision.

I think if you’re careful and do your research, you’ll be fine! ❤️
