Sandra4 :  i vote for convenience. I got married in my own backyard for that exact reason, there’s no “oh shit i forgot something at home” when you are at home

Convenience and access to friends and family, food, and reputation of the caterer for service are all equally important. Entertainment is usually booked separately.

I think the two most important things are that it fits your budget and can hold your guest list.

Lighting.  

 

After the event is over, the pics are what remains (and your marriage of course lol).  The pics are a huge deal to me personally and I discussed the venue/lighting/time of day extensively with my photographer before making concrete decisions.
