    Misswhowedding:  Love.

I love her! She’s totally Claire Underwood: tough, compassionate, dedicated to the point of ruthlessness. And as a politician I agree with her on virtually every point. I can’t wait to see her sworn in!

BalletParker:  The comments of people claiming she doesn’t “seem nice” drive me fucking crazy. Very, very rarely do you ever hear that as an argument against a male politician. It’s like as a woman she’s supposed to be this bubbly, effervescent person while at the same time not being too “emotional” or “weak” to get the job done. I’ve also heard so many people call her a bitch, or too “cunning” or “hawk-ish” whereas when it comes to describing male politicians it’s “ambitious” and “strategic.” It’s all just a bunch of derogatory language that tries to remind the public over and over again that she is a woman. I mean, hell, all these people who say she doesn’t seem “nice” or seems like a “coniving bitch”, have you met who she’s running against? He’s a literal talking asshole.

Edited because I never gave my opinion: I like Hillary. I was almost very briefly wooed by Bernie (my husband especially was), but I took a step back and looked as her views and her role as SOS and I knew she was the best candidate for me. I voted for Hillary in 2008 and I am happy to do so again. I have been telling my husband that I have been “with her” for eight years and will continue to support her wherever she ends up.

I really wanted Bernie and I voted for him, but I will vote for Hillary. I don’t DISLIKE her, she just wasn’t my first choice.

howsweetitis:  um LOL did you actually watch the latest season of HOC? Especially the last episode?

Maybe you missed it but claire basically suggested (and followed thru with) intentionally facilitating WAR because they could “work with fear” a lot more effectively than they could defend against the impending investigation into Frank (since ya know, he’s 100% guilty of everything of which he will be accused, all of which claire also knows about yet does not condemn). So, her grand plan was leveraging terrorism as a distraction from the real issues threatening their power. The very end of the episode implies they may even be going further than just leveraging certain events, but that remains to be seen.

I actually COMPLETELY agree with you hillary is “totally like, claire!” I have no doubt she is “dedicated to the point of ruthlessness” …to herself. she’d stop at nothing to preserve and propel her own power, just like both of the underwoods.

I just can’t see how one would knowingly want to see someone like that elected to power.

I feel like this country is ready to take on a Woman as a President (it is about damn time!) but it is terrifying that she has to be it. As much of a Republican as I am, I was hoping Bernie would beat Hillary. He was the only “normal” and decent candidate.

While I am very impressed with Trumps support of our Troops and Law Enforcement, he scares me…….

I cant stand Hillary. Someone mentioned she is like Claire Underwood…… In my opinion, she seems more like Frank Underwood to me. She is shady, she seems dark, I get a bad feeling from her. And honestly…….anyone that doesn’t support our troops or law enforcement will never get my vote.

Im going to sit this one out…

You guys know that voting in your local elections is actually a lot more powerful than voting for president, right? Hopefully everyone will put as much passion into voting for the House and the Senate.

polyblonde:  Haha, no, I stopped watching after the very dull previous season! I was thinking more of the early season(s?) when Claire is super committed to human rights, abortion rights, etc. I think it’s naive to think that politicians aren’t, well, politicians: self-interested and power-hungry, if hopefully committed to certain ideals that they do truly believe in. I’m really not too fussed about the “personality” of a candidate–I’m interested in her record on the issues that matter to me. But everyone’s different in what matters to them.

I’d vote for Trump before I vote for Hillary.
