My husband intended to wear his wedding band on a chain around his neck until we were married. He ended up wearing it on his left hand from the moment I proposed to him and didn’t take it off until the morning of our wedding, then only so it could be exchanged in the ceremony. A friend joked “So he’s married and you’re not!” but we weren’t fussed.

In my country both men and women have engagement rings, traditionally it is a plain band for both men and women and then as a wedding ring women get a more ornate ring eg a solitaire or eternity ring but men usually use the e-ring as a w-band too.

My husband has an engagement ring and a wedding ring. Wears them on separate hands. I think men’s engagement rings are awesome. (The idea that “man” has to be included to make it “manly” is silly to me, though.)
