Love the stone, *hate* the name. Moval?!! That sounds so ugly to me, like some nasty rodent or bug. Or a skin growth!

Why didn’t they come up with a completely different and more pleasing name like Pontille (pahn-teel) which means nothing but sounds nice, or a French Oval (isn’t everything French somehow better? hehe)

Or just “elongated oval”.

OP- I usually prefer ovals with a more round shape but I really like the sample images that people have posted on this thread.

oldsoul163 :  you can never have too big!!! πŸ˜‚ Since marquise/oval are an elongated cut, you can get a smaller carat that looks larger. For example a round 2 ct diamond is 8mm, a one carat oval is 8 x 5.5mm and one carat marquise 10.5×5 mm. So even a 1 carat can give great finger coverage. I have a 1.72 ct pear cut but measures 10.6x6x6 so it has the length of a 2ct weight pear.
