My original plan was to just get my girls a little something like a pretty wrap, and then pay for their hair & makeup at the salon, since we were all going to the same salon together. Well, the salon fell through (nightmare hair & makeup trial), and now everyone’s splitting up to go to their own preferred stylist. That is okay by me, but I needed to flesh out my gift since I couldn’t pay for everyone’s ‘dos and makeup at different salons. I considered giving them gift cards, but I knew the amount I had to spend probably wouldn’t cover their costs (the original salon was a beauty school that I could afford…maybe that’s why it didn’t go so well at the trial). I also felt like generic visa gift cards would be too generic of a gift.
So I started looking for some pretty, chic silver jewelry on Overstock. Here’s what I came up with in the end:
1. Wraps – each girl is getting one of these wraps from Red Blossom/Old Shanghai Online, ordered via Amazon.
I ordered the colors Denim, Berry, Orchid, Amethyst, and Purple, and each girl will get the color that I think she’d be most likely to wear. I know they’re not the most expensive/high quality wraps ever, but I thought they were cute and could be a cute little something they could throw on on the wedding day or in the spring/fall for a little added warmth.
2. Necklaces – these I found on Overstock.com. I should really refer to them as pendants because from what I understand, most of these come with not-very-nice chains. But I thought the pendants themselves were cool.
Again, I’m going to give to each girl the one that I think most matches her style.
This last necklace is what I got for my 7-year-old niece, who is my flower girl. Peridot is her birthstone, and I also think this would go with her flower girl dress:
What do you think? If you received these gifts as a Bridesmaid or Best Man, would you like them? I wish I could have spent more on them, but unfortunately, I don’t have that capability right now.
