What do you guys think of the bustle? It wasn’t what originally I had in mind, but my sister really liked it. I think I was thinking something more like a single point (or 3) with the lace, and then french the underneath layer, more towards where the buttons are. What do you think of this though?

I would go with something more traditional for that dress. So pretty.

I’m not loving it. I think your original idea was better. No ones really going to give it much heed but as you’re asking here, it does make your lovely dress a bit net curtain like. A simple bustle will keep the elegant lines better I feel.

Total honesty: its a bit odd looking- I wouldn’t do that kind of bustle. I would definitely do a more traditional bustle because your dress is beautiful and you don’t want to make it look awkward.

I agree with all previous replies. Really do not like the bustle

hkbrenner : Yeah I agree with OP…not keen on that bustle. I tend to favour single point bustles personally. I think that looks fussy and your dress is so elegant.

To be totally honest, it reminds me of this kind of pants:

Sorry OP I agree with the hive here — looks like a curtain! I’d ask your seamstress for what you originally envisioned.

hkbrenner : The bustle is a bit busy for my taste and it takes away from the beauty of your gown!! Your dress is stunning, I think something very simple will look much cleaner.

That dress is beautiful! The bustle is a little busy. I think I would go with the simple 3 button.

Sorry Bee! I literally gasped oh no! You’re dress is way too pretty for that complicated bustle. Agree with PP, maybe 1 or 3 point?

It’s good (but also not good) to hear you all think the same. My sister says this is a bad angle, so here’s another shot. I’ll probably call her tomorrow and see if I can come down again. The bummer is she lives an hour away from me, but since all of the reception is going to be bustled, I want it to look good
In defense of this style, I like how it still preserves the shape of the dress, especially in the booty region. And I don’t look like anything is coming out of my butt 😂

Also, thank you everyone for your feedback! I really appreciate it!
another side note: I think when it’s actually bustled, not pinned, it’s going to look kind of ‘drapey’

The dress is beautiful in the back without the bustle, I feel like there are other ways to bustle it that don’t make it turn into a prom gown. You’ve got a great figure and the way it is now I think does nothing for the dress or you. I am no dress professional but I’d expirement more. 🙂
