sammi11jo:  The cans look so much nicer when you can see the design, thanks for sharing it.  While I’m still not a fan of the corrugation, it’s a lot easier to see what you’re going for and doesn’t look like a big mistake.  I think I’d still prefer it with a smooth-sided can, but they’re harder to come by unless you’re really into coconut milk.

sammi11jo:  Lit up makes the cans soooo much better. (and wow, you really worked it, punching all of that!)

I hope I didn’t discourage you too much, because, really it is just hard for us to imagine if the examples weren’t done like “the real deal”.

I think it has a lot of potential, I love the green garland and maybe the green paper (in thicker stock) on top of a large gold doily for example would make it all come together?

Seriously, you just need a few tweaks and you’re there! It’ll be beautiful.

Please keep us posted!

julies1949:  idea of the twine tied around the napkin.  Another cheap alternative for chargers would be gold paper doiles.  It has a cleaner finish than what you have now, and brings out your bright gold color. They’re pretty cheap, even if you need a ton- http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/272033965583?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true

They look really polished here- http://www.decorlove.com/ideas/photos/pi/2/carina-skrobecki-photography-gold-doily-placemat.jpg

I think the tin cans can work, if you gave them a cleaner coat of a brighter gold.  Another option would be to cover them in purple ribbon/twine, to help bring in more of your accent color. http://www.thethriftycrafter.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/dsc_0692.png

adding these two elements with your wood block and fresh flowers would be so etheral. Can’t wait to see the finished product!

OMG Those tin can lanterns are amazing! How could anyone call them literal garbage? Excuse me! Come on! I can imagine them lit on tables with the lights down low during your reception! Breathtaking! You did an amazing job on them. Kudos to you for recycling & DIYing your decor! As for the table settings, try not to stress over it too much; your guests will be so busy looking at you in your gorgeous dress they’ll hardly notice anything else, but I do love your drawing! And if you don’t use it as a placemat/charger, then hopefully you can incorporate it into a wedding favour of some kind. 😉
