This is my paper heart garland DIY (in progress)… It will hang from the back of the arch that we are getting married in front of. Most of the hearts are just singles, but any of the patterned hearts will be 3d. What do you think?

omg are you kidding me that is fucking amazing! Love it!!!!!!

It’s adorable!! I particularly like the strands where the hearts are closer together! (Sorry, I know that means more hearts, lol.)

Thanks! It’s actually incredibly easy too… each strand takes me less than 2 minutes

I was going to do this too! Let me know how it turns out in the end.

Love it! But agree with pp, fill in the spaces with a few hearts and it’s perfect!

I love it!!! So cute! (I made about 500 meters of paper dot garlands for our wedding so I feel your pain!)
@brokeninnj: all you need is paper, a punch, floss / fishing line, glue dots, and TIME. I bet you can do it!

I voted for “not my favorite,” but hear me out: I love the idea. I think there are too many colors used. I think it might look better to simplify the color scheme and maybe use two or three colors and maybe some light and darker ones of the colors.
But I do really like the idea.

@LittleCricket: +1 on the same color scheme. Also, what is the aesthetic of your wedding? I think that might help to know for a fully honest opinion.

I use a paper punch and a sewing machine… I just pull on the heart that just went through until I want to put the next one in. I was really weirded out sewing where there’s nothing there, but as long as you pull, it works fine.

@chic_and_fabulous: casual, garden wedding with a bunch of DIY stuff. Cocktail hour outside with lawn games. Paper lanterns inside. Blue mason jars with hydrangeas/small tins with succulents for centerpieces. Not formal at all! Colors are “summery” – mostly blues, greens, and yellows. No wedding party. We just want to have fun, eat good food, and dance.

I love the heart garland. I’m not crazy about Crayola colors, and I think it’s super cute anyway.

@arielmerms: I really like it, and all the colors. I made one out of just ivory paper for the back of our head table where I and FI will sit (there’s a weird space there, hard to explain). But if it were for photos, color is the way to go.
Since it outdoors, I would suggest a weight on the bottom to keep it from flying around/getting tangled. Or, tying it on both ends. A large glass bead(s) would do the trick.
