So here is my dress!! I picked it out awhile back actually. I am starting to get a little nervous about it though. My wedding date isnt for some time and I am scared I picked my dress out too early. I got it at Priscilla of Boston when it was going out of business so it was 75% off. It was just too good of a deal to pass up!
When I went looking at the store the consultant told me she had the “perfect” dress for me. Turns out my dress had originally been specialty ordered by a girl with my exact measurements (4’11 and 100 lbs) and she decided to give up her deposit. After that my dress had sat in the back of the store for literally months. No one had even tried it on since it was so short that no one fit into it. These pictures were taken the first time I tried it on, I zipped it up and it fits pretty much like a glove.
I look at all the beautiful dresses here on this site and sometimes I worry it doesnt have enough POW to it. I guess maybe I don’t have enough dress confidence hehe.
So 1. What do you think of her? and 2. Anyone have any ideas of maybe how to spruce her up?
Thanks again for everyone’s help!

BEAUTIFUL DRESS!!! Fits like it’s made for you, nice work! If you want a little bling you could get a blingy belt just at the smallest part of your waist.

@nambi_pambi: Thank you! As terrible as it sounds I think I just need some positive words to reassure my confidence. So thanks for taking the time!

I love love love the fact that the buttons go all the way down to the hem like that.
If you feel like it’s missing some bling, you could always find a really nice beaded sash to emphasize your waist.
Honestly though, the simplicity is part of what makes it so stunning, and I think you should just get a nice satin-edged veil and rock the dress as-is 🙂

Yes, I think it needs a sash or belt! It really makes you look taller than 4’11”- gorgeous princess seams!

I think it looks amazing! If you want to add some “oomph”, a blinged out belt would do the trick. I puroposefully chose a “plain” (no beading, embroidery, etc.) dress because I rocked a killer necklace and earrings and didn’t want them to compete with the dress. 🙂 I think you’ll be very happy with your classic choice.

Thank you @lealorali and @cb336! The buttons are my favorite too, its a nice little detail. And thanks, the consultant said that trumpet dresses make short girls like taller. And lord knows I need all the help I can get 🙂
I was actually thinking of maybe a sash like this perhaps?
Or maybe something with a little bling? Although a lot of the blingy ones are like crazy expensive.

That dress is stunning on you! POB’s gowns always gave off a wow factor to me while still being understated. I think that a sparkly belt or sash would work well with that dress too. Have you searched ebay/etsy for one?

@bellaluna290: I have a little bit. Maybe I should take a harder look! hehe. Do you think a smaller band would be more flattering or a thicker band on the belt/sash?

Wow! That dress was made for you! I agree the others that adding a belt/sash would create the “wow” factor you’re looking for. But, I love simple gowns. I would either wear it with the belt/sash or wear it plain with a necklace with some pow.

@MeghN: Thanks Meg! I think I will take everyone’s advice and check out a sash! Hope I can find an affordable one hehe.

Your dress is beautiful and I think the sash you posted would look lovely with it. You could also do a statement necklace and forgo the sash.
There is another bee who bought a beautiful, simple dress from PoB as it was going out of business. Here’s her recent post about her accessories- http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/bees-w-simple-dresses-let-me-encourage-you-go-w-your-gut-pix

I think it’s gorgeous and looks great on you!! Maybe a belt/sash to give it a little pop?

I think it is simple yet gorgeous! Some times simple is better. With a few peices to accent it, it will stand out! I tried on a dress similar to this, I wasn’t so sure about it at first but once the consultant “blinged” me out It quickly became one of the top dresses!

Wow, it really is beautiful. I wouldn’t add a thing to the dress. This really is a case where less is more. Maybe add a necklace or some earrings if you want to spruce up your look, but I love the dress just how it is.
