“There are not many things in life that I know, and I am no Shakespeare but I know that when I am not near you, I want to be.  Even though you challenge me to be a better person, I know you love me for who I am.  I want to marry you because whenever I am challenged with something in life, I want to succeed so that I can make you proud, make you happy.   I want to marry you because when I take my last breath, I hope I am able to have you there to hold my hand and hold me tight. “

That is very lovely written.  ๐Ÿ™‚

Agreed that last paragraph was beautiful. I really had some tears going. I’m such a hopeless romanitc, and oh boyyyyy I really liked it!

They sound really good, but there were several inside jokes and stories that I didn’t understand. Like the part about the dumpsters. And  the mess you call home. If this isn’t something a good portion of your attendees will get, you might want to either go into more detail or leave it for a letter you give him on your wedding day.

I think it’s really beautiful! However, since you asked for my opinion, I do think it’s a little too long. If I were you, I would take out paragraphs 2 – 5: while they are lovely, I think they might be better served as a love letter you deliver to your husband the morning before your wedding. The first paragraph and the last four sound more like vows to me – promises you’re making to your new husband in front of your loved ones.

But hey, I’m a fan of short vows and this is just my preference; in the end, they’re your vows and they should be as long or as short as you want them to be.

Those are absolutely lovely vows. Especially the ending! If I were to suggest anything it would be to cut back on some of the inside jokes or explain them more. The third paragraph was very pretty but confused me. And what are sick shorts? So maybe compress paragraphs 3-5? But I think they’re really nice and you can clearly tell how much you love your guy and that’s the important part!

@MrsOrange:  Your wedding is so close! How exciting! I do like the revised version much better! They are beautiful!

This paragraph from the original didn’t read for me cohesively with the others.

You do the sweetest gestures, the way you literally took the T-shirt off your back to cover me when I slept, to me; those things mean more than anything money can buy.   Whether you know if or not, you endeavor to make me a better person, because you are who you are, you inspire me to be more open, less shy, more loving in a real way, I love the way you open me up to trying new things, always trying for more. ”
