bibbithebee:  Hi, I really don’t like them at all. I think they look trendy. It doesn’t show off the diamond and I think you need quite a large carat before they start looking worthwhile to me. I have come to like asscher cuts and therefore much prefer them.

It’s definitely personal taste though! What do you like?

I don’t care for them, I think they’re boring.

Personally I don’t care for them though somehow I ended up with princesd cut diamond earrings. I can’t give you an exact reason why because they are a beautiful look i just don’t like them. Go figure.

I love all square and rectangular cuts, be it Ascher, Emerald, Princess or Radiant. My set is all princess cut.

I really love square cuts if they’re set sideways, I think it’s called a kite setting. If they’re set straight, I find them very boring.

I love them. My original ering was an illusion cluster set in princess/square setting. With a total carat weight of 0.10 in yellow gold.

then last year I got a white gold version with tow of 0.33

then this year for our 9th anniversary I got a 9 stone cluster tcw 0.90 with each stone 0.10ct all princess cut.

my dream diamond ring would be a 2.50 tcw single stone princess cut in a reverse tapped band setting with claws.

This may just be me, but I think princess cuts can be dated the same way marquise can be… They read 80s to me the way marquise can read 90s.

I personally don’t like them at all. I think they make the ring look hard. A round or oval makes the ring softer and more romantic in my opinion. I don’t like straight edge gemstones at all. Now that being said, if other girls like them far be it from me to judge their decisions.

acglandorf:  +1.

I don’t think they’re “boring” but I don’t like the harshness of the shape and the sharp corners — just not my taste.

I like them on other people, but not on me. This woman walked into a meeting with a princess cut solitaire (at least 2 carats) and I thought it was gorgeous. They do seem like they were once really popular and now not really sought after.

I do not like Asscher cuts at all, but love emerald cuts.

I didn’t really feel one way or the other about them until I got my ring. Now I absolutely love the shape and think it looks pretty smart. I may be weird but I like that it looks a bit daintier than other stones of the same carat weight (from the top, of course). I’ve actually had some friends who have round shaped stones express their princess diamond envy.

Love them.. I love all the square’ish cuts.  How I ended up with a round is beyond me.  But I have other e-sets now and my princess cut stone is next to be set 😉
