I like it! I don’t think it sounds douchey at all. It’s your baby though, who cares what anyone else thinks!

What did you name your puppy?? What kind of puppy???

I actually like it. It reminds me a little of ‘Alyis ‘ which has been growing on me recently.

I love it! It is Greek and means ‘to carry’ but is associated with great strength. There was also a mythical titan named Atlas. I think it is a really cute name for a boy! Different, but not crazy weird. And definitely masculine!

I like it. Good association, easy to say, easy to spell. Go for it.

To be honest I imagine a book of maps. Like naming your kid almanac or thesaurus, lol. It’s not awful, of course, but it’d get an eyebrow-raise out of me!

I like it because of the Greek connection – it sounds very classic.  But then I also think about Ayn Rand (“Atlas Shrugged”), whose books I detest…

I like it a lot, eventhough I am usually more traditional in my name preferences.

It’s a touch on the outre side, but if you really like it… your own choice!

MrsHalpert:  I would definitely be surprised and a bit confused if someone came up to me and said ‘hi my names Atlas’.. to me it’s not a name, it’s a book with maps – but then i’d never heard of the Greek connection and that does make it more meaningful! and hey if you love it it’s totally up to you! I’m not a fan but I don’t like to be judgemental particularly towards strangers! plus, I have heard a LOT worse!

Cute, unique but easy to say and spell. Never met an Atlas before!

Yeah I think of a giant book of maps or Atlas Shrugged. And then I think of mythology and go, “Ew how pretentious, trying to name their kid after a god. Psh.”

But that’s just me I am obviously in the minority, lol. I’m also that person that is going to name their kid something really solid and boring like Logan Michael. 😛

Love it! Its actually a nickname of my BF’s. Never thought of using it for a child’s name and I’m loving it more and more!
