I like it, it was popular at my high school. We had several Reed/Reid’s. Only downside is that it’ll get misspelled pretty often.

I love both names but Reed is more unique.

Never heard of the name Reed, Reid is a surname and I really don’t like this trend of using surnames as first names so I voted Luke.

I love unique names. I think Reed (I prefer the Reid spelling) is really charming as a name.

I much prefer the traditional spelling of Reid. When I think of Reed, I think of pond grasses. I would wonder if the parents had gotten the spelling wrong by mistake. Also, you said you thought the name was ‘cute’, but I always try to remember that babies will one day be adults. Not all men want a ‘cute’ name.

That being said, I don’t think Reid/Reed is ‘cute’, I think it’s classic while still being masculine. I prefer it over Luke.

Reed makes me think of Lou Reed. Therefore, I like it. 🙂

Reed hands down, its one of those names that’s unique without being odd and still has a classic vibe. I get 2-3 Luke’s in class per year, it’s so over done right now.

Reid is a great first name. It makes me think of a strong, confident individual. I do prefer Reid spelling to the Reed version.
