@NurseMandie:  I love the turquoise/teal color with the gray… But I do think it is too dark. So I voted for you to paint over with a lighter gray 🙂

Depends on the size of your bathroom and how much natural light comes in the room.

Also what color is the floor/cabinetry?

How much paint is there? Is there a lot of tile on the walls making it lighter? A large mirror taking up a lot of wall space?

What else do you plan to hangin on the wall to break up the paint? What color towels will you hand as hand towels?

too many unkowns to say if its too dark or not.

I would lighten up the grey a bit. I also think painting the cabinets white would help! What’s your hubby’s reservation to doing that? It would look so nice with that shower curtain and the teal!

@NurseMandie:  i agree with you about painting the sink cabinet white! my mom’s bathroom had cabinets that color and we painted them white and it looks so much better. i hope your Fiance concedes. i think the grey is fine and i love the turquoise with it.

I took interior decorating and yes I would say that its too dark, lighter colors are better with a shower..you want to be able to see, especially with shaving, a light grey would look great with that blue

@NurseMandie:  I think if you had a much lighter window treatment than they have, light colored towels the gray could be just fine. But it definately could be too dark with out seeing it in person as it is a bit on the smaller side, but there isnt a ton of wall space.

I agree, though. It would look a lot better with white cabinetry and more sleek/modern and brighter.

I’d do a lighter grey like Bridesmaid or Best Man Revere Pewter.

I like the combination, but I’d pick a lighter shade of grey like some of the PP’s suggested.  I’m not a big fan of dark colors in bathrooms, and I think the dark grey would take attention away from the turquoise.

Also I love the shower curtain!  You should post pics when it’s finished.

The grey is beautiful! Our bedroom is painted that color. We also have a black bathroom, and it is so lovely and sophisticated!

Also, I have zero trouble seeing to shave. We do have glass shower doors, though.

@NurseMandie:  I think I want to move in to your bathroom.
