Trying to decide on a name for our baby girl (due end of December).
She’s getting my second name, which is double-barrelled, because even though I’m married I didn’t change my name and I don’t see why she would just get DH’s – the patriarchy can do one (plus we agreed that girls get my name, boys get his).
I like short names, but I want to give her a middle name because I don’t have one and always wanted one!
I definitely want to include the name Lily in her name, as I love it and it was my grandmother’s name.
So far the frontrunner is Lily Iva.
I like the name Ava, but Darling Husband says it reminds him too much of Hilter’s girlfriend (she was Eva, but whatever). Other names I like are:
I want the name to go with Lily (don’t mind if Lily is the middle name or the first name), but none of them really do.

I’ve always liked Aria and would’ve used it if Dh and I didn’t decide on a D name since we’re both D’s. Aria Lily sounds super pretty to me. And Lily by itself is a good name too. I have a cousin Lyla Jade.

I love Lily Isla and Lily Iva! I would be very hesitant to pair another L name with Lily.

Aria is mine and my husband’s top pick for a girl. But if you really love Lily I would just use that for the first name. I think Lily Ivy sounds nice.

I think your issue is that you like mostly names with a “y” or “ie” ending. Maybe a longer version of one of those for a middle name? Lily Evelyn? Lily Edith? Or the opposite, with Lily as the middle, and use the shortened version as a nickname?

everything that ends with the y sound is soft. Many of the ones that end in an a sound aslo sound soft. Maybe try a harder sounding name with it such as :
Jane Ann Blake Jade Kat Ruth Tate Val

I like Lily Isla, I think if your husband is concerned Ava is too close to Eva, I’d steer clear of Iva since when I read it I assumed it was pronounced the same way as Eva haha.

Another vote for Lily Isla!

Aria is out for me because of the pornstar.

Please don’t pair Lily with another plant name.
The best advice vice I can give you is to go to your back food and yell different combinations like you are calling her to come inside. My daughter, Hannah’s name did not yell well, too many soft consonants. I learned my lesson. Lol.

Another vote for Evelyn or lengthening Lily to Lillian. The wonderful thing about a name like Evelyn is that you can call her Eve, Evvie (with a short e sound), Lyn, Evie – some people even use Lily or Lila as a nickname for Evelyn.

i agree that none of the names on your list seem to go with Lily

I like the opposite of everyone else’s. Isla Lily sounds pretty.
