I personally love calla lilies; I feel like they’re beautiful and really elegant. I’ll probably incorporate some in my bouquet. 🙂

@Mint2Bee:  Ok I will start off by saying that I am not a hater of artificial flowers. I have not decided whether I will use artificial or real flowers yet. I put up a post and it seemed as if everyone dissed the idea of artificial flowers. I think the flowers you chose look great! I actually think that the real touch calla lilies are the best looking artificial flowers. Im thinking about doing hydrangeas with calla lilies sprouting from them.

I think the ones with 3 look good (not just one flower) but I would add in some real foliage (I don’t know what you call it) like some fresh side flowers that are added to bouquets… so that it fills it in a little and doesn’t look bare/just one type of flower.

@Mint2Bee:  They are gorgeous as long as you spruce them up a bit!  Add something extra.  Maybe something like this?

I did my flowers DIY and I DEFINITELY recommend it!  They are a) less expensive, b) done way ahead of time and not a stress at the last minute like fresh bouquets, c) way less expensive, and (best of all), d) a keepsake for you and your bridesmaids!

@Mint2Bee:  I generally prefer real flowers. That said, i can understand needing to stay in a particular budget. What I’m confused about is if you’re going to give each girl 1 cala lilly, why not do real? Have you priced it out? It doesn’t seem like it would be that expensive.

I think they look obviously fake – the stems and pink give them away. I think if you want to do something cheaper than flowers, do something that isn’t flowers but is interesting in its own way. Kind of in the way that fake meat is never quite right, but vegetarian food that isn’t trying to be meat is awesome is how I feel about fake flowers….does that make sense?

How much does 1 calla lilly cost? It’s probably the same as the fake ones in your pictures-which do look fake IMO. I think you should get small, real boquets-simple and classic you can’t go wrong.

I’d consider having just real calla lillies for you and a less expensive flower for your girls if cost is why you’re going with fake flowers.  I don’t think these are going to give you the effect you’re looking for.

I didn’t vote because I thought “tacky” was too harsh, but I don’t think you are going to be happy with the way these particular flowers look. The pink and the stems are just not realistic, and you probably could have diyed this for just a little more than what you paid for those artificial. I don’t know when your wedding is, but I’ve seen cala lilies very inexpensive at Meijer and our local farmer’s market this spring. Here’s a bonus image for you! 🙂

Also, you could carry several calla lilies on your arm, and have your bridesmaids all carry a single lily. It would be beautiful.
