Etsy has beautiful rings that aren’t expensive, I’d go with rings instead of keys.

I think the key idea is really sweet!!!! But if you do decide on rings you can buy them very cheap at pawn shops etc. I bought my two wedding bands at a pawn shop for $180 for both and they have diamonds in them. Good luck and congrats

I agree with everyone. If the budget is tight, get rings that fit the budget. Engagement rings do not need to be expensive.

I think its cute for you guys, but I think it would still be good to get nice cheap pain gold bands and upgrade later?

It’s cute but I’m also thinking bands are a good idea too for longevity. Hopefully you guys will be married for decades and the keys may not be practical at some point or they might become tarnished.  I think it’s nice to have something forever from your actual wedding ceremony. Do both!

As the previous posters already pointed out, there are so many inexpensive ring options out there.  I like the idea but you can still get a great set of bands.

Even berricle.com has great rings as stand ins!

I definitly would not go to your local hardware store to buy these keys. I think this idea could work, check out etsy.com they have tons of beautiful Victorian key necklaces for great prices. Also, stores like piercing pagoda and things remembered probably sell key necklaces.

thestandfills:  I’m also a total sucker for the symbology of the rings. BUT if your bride is 100% on board with keys I sawy do whatever you want! Your friends and family may have something to say about it, but it’s not their life. ALSO if you are only trying to save money, you can buy less expensive rings. I had a wedding ring that was just a white gold band for years.
