I guess the people have spoken and the idea is awful. Aw I thought it could work.
I do work as a graphic designer full time so I can just maybe get an evening job and cut back on expenses as people have suggested.
Thank you everyone for all of your input, you have probably just saved me a lot of time and hastle 🙂

Like a few others said, we get that where we live (CA), but it’s free. I really like it – I’ve always been a bargain hunter.
Would it be an option for you to elope, then in a few years when you’ve saved up, have a vow renewal that’s as extravagant as the wedding you’d want?

Mine would have been free too. I’m not too sure why people are thinking I was expecting people to pay for it? The only people who would pay are the busnisses who would have adverts in it, it would be distributed for free to the public.
Anyway, I’m not goint to dwell on it any longer.

If you’re a graphic designer, why not open an Etsy shop and do work through there? You could do digital files like blog/website graphics to save on costs of materials.

If you’re a graphic designer, I feel like offering your services on a freelance basis would be a much better option..
That way you’re actually making money, instead of potentially making money and wasting a ton of time.

What about working on doing graphic design for businesses they can use as ads on their social media? Your mockup cover looked really awesome, and people can totally tell when something is done by a good graphic designer rather than an amateur. If you would charge 99 for an -a5 ad, what about 50 or 25 for a social media graphic? something for their cover picture, perhaps?
The personal touch of going into the business to show them your style will definitely be a plus over all the other designers on the internet. Try targeting one or two who already have a social media presence for a lowered price in exchange for a screenshot of their activity page if it shows increased traffic to their social media or more clicks.

If you’re a graphic designer, you may be able to barter for some of your wedding services. Lots of vendors need print materials created or updated, and for small/independent vendors, the cost of proper graphic design services might be out of their reach. It’s definitely not a bad idea to ask your vendors if they would have a need for graphic design services and, if so, would they be interested in a barter arrangement. The worst they can do is say no.
