I actually think these are very beautiful!
(eta:the one provided by the venue)

I would have guessed that they cost an arm and a leg!

If anything, you could even buy that gelly stuff (not sure what it is called) and add one of those lights to the vase instead of having the colour water.

I would definitely upgrade. No offense to your venue but that looks like a bouquet you could find in any grocery store, and I definitely think candelabras would be preferable to the coloured glass.

ETA: LOVE the inspiration photo you posted…that’s more like it!

If it is in your budget…go for it. I like the upgrade but the original is nice too. Can you add more roses to the original and maybe some gems inside the vase for cheaper? Just a thought.

I think it looks great but I’m not really an authority on centerpieces since I’m struggling with mine

what if you bought your own roses to add and just asked them to skip the baby’s breath?  i like the second better not so much because of the vase vs candelbra, but because i dont like all that babys breath with the roses.

I wouldn’t bother upgrading. You won’t even notice it that day!

It sounds like you’re in a tough spot since you can’t use anyone but their florist, and their florist isn’t going to make it look the way you want. I wouldn’t spend extra money on it unless you think having those flowers will really ruin your day. Try to concentrate instead on all the wonderful things about your wedding day.

I’m on a very tight budget myself and am making my own centerpieces. Some things you might want to consider would be to leave the water just clear with the clear vase. It’s hard to tell in the picture but are the roses real? If so I’d see how much it would cost just to upgrade to just have the double amount of roses and use the clear vases with clear water and no baby’s breath. That should bring the cost down a little.
