My fiance and I orginally planned an Aug 1 09 wedding but postponed. The orginal colors were light purple, light green and peach. So I have all these shades of purple flowers. Now we’ve reset our date (YAY) for Jan1 (maybe we have a thing for the first of the month. lol). I don’t feel like our orginal colors are appropriate and I’m not really feeling purple for jan, however I don’t want them to go to waste (though I’d wind up using them in our home). And I really love the idea of Navy and Pink. Fiance’s grandma suggested doing that and still using the purple flowers. Would that look ok together? The purple would only be used in the flowers. The dress I’ve pretty much chosen is a long chiffon a-line with a 2in sash under the bust. I was considering the dress to be navy and the sash to be pink. Would it look ok with the purple being added in with the flowers?

Personally, I think purple used in small splashes (such as the flowers) would look great with navy and pink!

I think the navy & pink with bits of purple would look lovely together!!! I don’t see those colors clashing at all. I think if you do it right, it’ll look great! Good luck & happy planning!

Those are my tentative colors exactly! I posted my inspiration board under a thread about navy and pink somewhere on here… can’t remember exactly where, but a lot of other brides had pretty inspiration photos as well. 🙂

I think that the purple flowers mixed in with your idea of Navy and Pink would be very chic. I love it, I would work on some inspiration boards to really get a feel for the color scheme :o)

navy and pink are my colors too:)! i agree with others that bits of purple in the bouquet would be very pretty, it’s in the same family as blue that it’s a great accent

When I think of navy and pink, I consider their common ground to be purple. Maybe keep pink and navy as your main colors and throw in some/all of the purple flowers you already have. I think that could really work. If you wanted to stick with just the pink and navy though you could use the purple flowers at your rehearsal dinner or any other wedding event you’re having (b.maid luncheon, after party, morning after brunch, etc.). You could even have purple in the ceremony and then navy and pink in the reception if you want to keep them separate.
