Love it, hate it? I’d like to put on an ocean themed wedding with bridesmaids all in the blue that is on this dress. Even the cake would be decorated with shells and all that. What do you think of the dress? Honest and critical comments are welcome!

LOL, I thought meant a totally colored dress, not a white dress with a color accent. I do like that dress, though–it’s interesting, and that shade is lovely. 🙂 I don’t really consider it a colored dress, though. ;P

i’m personally not a fan of it. i think the blue looks a little forced somehow, but i am also not a fan of appliques, so maybe that’s swaying my opinion.

I really like that color and I think the style of that dress would go great with an ocean theme!

Is your wedding going to be on the beach? This dress does not seem “beachy” to me.

I think that’s a really nice shade of blue…it’s nice and rich, and really speaks to the ocean theme. And, I think it would look nice in a brides maid dress…it doesn’t seem like a color that would clash with anyone.
Very nice. 🙂

I like the color in it, but I agree–it’s not the color, but the beading, the fullness of the skirt, and the silhouette that’s making me wonder if it might be too fancy for the beach??

For me, the color is too bold for a wedding dress. But if you love it that’s what matters. However I do agree with the others, when I think of beachy, I think flowy dress.

I’ve seen this dress on, and it was very flattering.
I’ve also seen someone married on the beach in a similar dress (no color) and she looked lovely.
Go for it!

Personally, it’s not my style…HOWEVER, if you love it…that’s all that matters!

Personally I am not a fan of the dress – the beading and style is too traditional for my tastes and I am not a fan of colour on dresses.
That being said – everyone has different tastes.
I also think it is quite formal for a beach themed wedding – but I’ve seen it done before so if you love it go for it!

I’m not a huge fan of that style of dress, to be honest, or of “accent” dresses with dark/strong colours (other than a contrast sash). I just think the styling is a little dated. However, I’ve seen plenty of brides say this is their dream dress, so if it’s what you love, go for it. It’s your wedding, wear what you love. I got to pick my perfect dress for my own wedding 🙂

I think that is a lovely shade of blue. However, like some of the others I am not a fan of “color accent” dresses, plus i think that the style and fabric does not fit a beach wedding. Satin and the beach do not go together, IMO.
When I think of beach weddings, I always picture the dresses really soft and flowy. Chiffon, organza, netting, that sort of thing.

Thanks everyone. I’d like to add that the ‘ocean theme’ is not about the beach, or going to be anywhere near a beach. It would actually take place in the midwest. =) I should be more clear: I am going for a ‘water’ theme that includes all the oceans of the world. Facts and trivia of each large ocean will be printed on sheets at each table to help guests break the ice with each other. The reception would be inside next to a lake next summer. I am looking for water-inspired decor, but I want to see if the dress fits. Here is my other option:
Would that be a better choice?
