What do you think of this diamond size on a 4.5 hand?

Have you asked her whether her preference for her ring is to be modest as well? The reason I ask is my style is extremely modest however when it comes to e rings my preference is a 0.75 – 1 carat because I am very tall/broad which I find takes away from e rings of smaller sizes.

The ring is beautiful however.

It’s a reasonable size and her finger is on the smaller side.

You know your girlfriend best. Will she be happy with a modest ring, or has she been talking about wanting a larger size stone?

My finger is around 6.5, and my 1 carat diamond solitaire looks small to me. But I know my husband spent a lot of money on it and it’s the most we can afford.

I strongly suggest finding a way to find out her preference. Does she have a close friend or family member who you could snoop through?

All of my jewellery is very modest however my preference for e rings is not as modest which makes me wonder whether she is the same.

I do think you can’t go wrong with a .6 or .7 on a female of her size though. But again it would be best to find a way to find out what she wants when you are making an extremely important purchase like this.

Swimstuff :    have you compared a .6 next to a .7? The visual difference is very slight. While an SI2 stone can be perfectly nice – but you will want to see it in person to determine whether it is truly eye clean.

in that case, I’d definitely get a .6 vvs1 – and make sure there is a great return policy 🙂 (have you been able to see the exact diamond you are ordering? I would want to see a video and any certifications before paying)

I’m 5’2, and also have a 4.5 size finger, and my center stone is 1.25, and it feels kinda small haha! I don’t think the .6 to .7 will show much of a difference. Between the 2 you are looking at, I would go with the “cleaner” stone.

Swimstuff :  what is your budget? Also, where were you thinking of purchasing and what is the certification? SI diamonds can okay, but you do need to be more careful

Swimstuff :  does the store have many options? It is odd you are choosing between .6 vvs and .7 si. Also color is also something to consider as some people are color sensitive.
