I think I have finally found the PERFECT style for my wedding dress!
I went dress shopping for the second time last weekend, this time with my Maid/Matron of Honor. We had a great time, and I tried on a lot of beautiful dresses. But then the sales consultant brought me one that I never thought I’d like. The Paloma Blanca 4116.
The skirt was STUNNING but the stop was a VERY modified sweetheart and it was satin, two things I said I really disliked. I tried it on anyway. And then I cried. I loved it! But then they told me it was twice my budget, and I could buy the sample for 50% by 4pm that day. What! Way too much pressure!
So I walked away… I still love the dress, but I also don’t want to spend twice my budget and I don’t want to buy a very worn sample. I could change the top to sweetheart, but it would still be satin, which I’m hesitant about. It doesn’t help that my parents don’t love the top of it either and think I could do better.
Now… I have found very similar dresses with the same skirt and different tops. One dress, the Allure 8862, has the bodice that I was pining after before I tried on the Paloma Blanca, not to mention it is WAY less expensive than the Paloma Blanca. I will be trying it on in two weeks and my fingers are crossed that the combination of dream skirt and former dream bodice will be just perfect!
What do you think, bees? How do you feel about the satin on the Paloma Blanca? Do you like the Allure? Do you know of other dresses with this same skirt and a sweetheart bodice?
