I like it, classy and appropriate in my opinion.  I would stick with neutral makeup, maybe a soft daytime smokey eye…

It does look somewhat “wedding”.  You have a great idea going the classic route; you could, however, explore other alternatives as well:

I would go for at least knee-length for a dress to be worn to church for an event like this. I’d also look for a dress with a closed back. It’s borderline for church purposes.

I think it looks great, I’d wear to church easily. I do agree with previous OP though, depends on how strict your church ‘rules’ can be.

It depends on your church. Our church is so large that no one notices what the mom wears, so wear what you like!
