My mom is making my flower girl dress. And she came across this dress. I am trying to decide if this will fit my style of wedding which is rustic/fall. I really like the dress, I think its adorable and fun.

The dress I had initially thought of using is this dress

I just want other Bees opinions of which dress they like best.

Sorry, not a fan of the shape/style of the first dress. The second one is much cuter, plus there’s a better chance that it could be worn for another occasion.

both go with your theme and both are cute. i love tutus. However, I personally don’t like hatler/strapless/spaghetti straps on little girls. My pick would be two, since spaghetti straps aren’t as bad as halter.

How old are your flower girls? I think the first would be super adorable on really young ones. If they’re a little older (totally a personal opinion, I know I’ve seen girls in dresses like this and it’s looked fine!) I don’t think the first is very appropriate as I feel like there should be more substance to the top/chest of the dress for a “young lady”. Lol I wanted to say that appropriately but may have just sounded like an old lady!

@beeberonibri: My flower girl will be my daughter and at the time she will be 9 1/2. I was wondering if the first one would be appropriate for her age. It does seem more like a younger kid dress.
My mom is really pushing for the first dress. Not that I would hate it but I’m just not sure.

i like the tutu idea, but i agree with the previous posters who say there should be more coverage on top.
i wanted a tutu for my flower girl, but i thought she might be too old for one (she was 7, almost 8). i ended up picking a dress with a full skirt that was reminiscent of a tutu 🙂

What is the tone of your wedding?? I like the first one for a more casual/fun atmosphere, but I like the second for something more formal/traditional. I do think the first one is really cute, I voted for the second though because I think it is better for a more traditional wedding.

The first one is cute but I think it would be cuter on younger flower girls less than 5…. The second one would be more appropriate for all ages I think.

@elysion: I want a really casual wedding. I would totally have the bridal party in bare feet but Fiance says no lol. The men will probably wear khaki’s and a button down shirt, a cute tie, no coat or jacket. It’s an ourdoor wedding so more than likely the girls will wear either flip flops or wedges so their heels don’t sink.

For a 9 year old, I would definitely go with #2. Granted, I was a bit of a tomboy, but at 9 I would have thrown a hissy fit over being put in a frilly tutu. :p The second one is still super cute and very age appropriate.

@NurseMandie: For casual then I would say #1! I guess the only thing of note is I noticed from other replies that your flower girl will be 9, so you might want to consider asking her if she likes it or not? Or it might even be “aged up” if you add a waist sash.

@misspeanut: Ugh I wish my daughter was a tomboy lol. She wants to wear a full blown formal dress for her flower girl dress. The last time we went to the bridal store she kept asking me if she could try on dresses and I said when I was finished talking to the consultant about my dress we would “LOOK”. When I turned back around she had the dressing room FULL of dresses lol.
This is what she wants and I tell her everyday no.

I think the first picture is only appropriate for an infant. And on a 9 year old it looks like her chest would be exposed by that shape. Sorry. The second shape is much better, and lovely, maybe in more rustic colors to match your theme?
