I LOVE it! If she can rock it, totally let her!! I think it will go well with your colors!

She could pair it with a colorful cardigan or nice pashmina wrap and maybe some pearls – that would cut the white that some people are concerned about, and give her some upper arm coverage. My mom wore a dress about that length with a wrap and fabulous earrings – she looked great! I actually really hate traditional MOB dresses, so I say go for it!

I agree with those saying they like it! My Mom isn’t wearing a super matronly looking MOB dress either – it’s short, cute, and she’s wearing a wrap with it. She looks age-appropriate.

I think it’s perfect for what you’re describing as far as your wedding vibe too! No need for your mom to be in some old-lady frock while everyone else is more on the cute and informal side.

A cardigan or wrap – preferably colorful, maybe purple? Paired with some cute shoes and a cute purse and she’ll be one stylin’ MOB!

ETA: Just saw your cardigan option above – looks perfect!

I’m not trying to be snarky, but if you want it to look more age appropriate or formal, then just add a hat.

@Tigrrlily04:  I agree with a couple of posters who say it’s a bit young for a 65 year old lady, but I think with the correct accessories and jacket she could totally rock it.  Maybe a Jackie-O style jacket in teal and purple patent shoes with matching handbag,  and an elaborate big-bead necklace and bracelet.

This is the style I was thinking: http://www.katyelliott.com/blog/uploaded_images/trina_turk-763634.jpg
