My aunts got me this ring as a present from my first marriage. They gave it to me on my wedding night. I love sapphires and my Boyfriend or Best Friend is going to propose to me in the near future with a blue sapphire engagement ring. I am not sure about keeping this ring though as it was a gift for my previous marriage? WTYD of it? do you think the style is dated? I am at a loss on what to do. Thanks!

I personally think it is a little dated. What about having the diamonds and sapphires reset into a pendant?

Yea I thought it was very dated! LOL Thank you!

I think I will just sell it. I love sapphires but dont really love them in a marquise cut

LOL! I was like what? Resting heart rate?

I like it, but that’s because I’m old…. If you feel weird because it’s from your first marriage, and was a gift from your aunts, why don’t you ask them what they think if you changed the style or took the stones and made something else with them? Maybe they’d be really offended if you did something without them knowing. Or they’d be offended that you’d want to change it? Oh, I don’t know…LOL

Even though it may be a little dated, I actually really like it! I would totally rock that ring! I don’t think it’s weird that you wear it even though it was a gift for a previous marriage. Maybe if it was from your ex-husband it might be a little weird… but really, you could just think of it as a gift from your aunt!

I persoanlly think its dated and if its from your first marriage then I would for sure have it made into something else! Maybe a pendant or a different more modern, classic RHR?

I actually like it.
Remember styles come back in fashion, and it is a gift from your Aunts, so i would rock it.

Ohhhh guys I forgot to mention I dohave a matching necklace that goes with it. Maybe I can take the stonesof ring and necklace and make it into something else? Any ideas or pics on what I can do with marquise cut sapphires?

I love the color of the stones, but am not a huge fan of the setting. RE-set!
I personally LOVE this look when done with marquise stones (not necessarily a ring, maybe even a pendant?)

I like the color of the sapphires but it reminds me a little of a class ring.

I like it. And I don’t see why you should get rid of it because it was a gift when you got married the first time. After all, it wasn’t your ex that bought it for you. And even if it was, I still wouldn’t get rid of it if you like it. Hell, I have several nice pieces of jewelry from my ex husband, and I am certainly not going to get rid of them!
