Very pretty! Classic and lovely. Have you asked your intended about her style preferences for a ring?

I think it’s very beautiful!! I love that it kind of looks like a lotus. With a .6 oval though I would be concerned about 6 prongs kind of swallowing the diamond if they are not dainty enough – have you seen the setting with a similar sized stone in it?

I wouldn’t do a 6 prong on a 0.6ct oval, agree with PP.

I have almost an identical setting! I love it, it’s dainty, classic, and simple but also has something a little different with the tulip basket.

I have a .5 round diamond and the prongs don’t swallow it up. You’ll find a lot of people say you shouldn’t set anything smaller than 1 ct in a 6 prong setting, but I wouldn’t put too much weight into that.  Mine is a Stuller, Item 123054 for reference.

<div id=”itemNum” class=”clearLeft pull-left no-float-xs”> </div>
<div id=”socialMedia” class=”no-float-xs display-block-xs no-margin-xs text-center-xs pull-left leftMarginLarge” data-bind=”html: $root.ProductDetails().SocialMediaPartial()”> </div>

I also think you should go with a 4 prong for an oval. Stuller carries the same setting in a 4 prong, it is style # 123226. I abolutely adore this setting, and only chose my setting because I didn’t want a curved wedding band, and my setting is a tiny bit thinner than this. I saw this 6 prong setting in person and it’s absolute perfection!

Swimstuff :  I love it (but then it’s very similar to my ering setting and styles that I like). It’s beautiful and classic and elegant while also having a little bit of uniqueness to it. Good luck with your proposal!

wimstuff :  I have plenty of pictures! haha I love the size, everyone always comments how dainty the setting is, which I love!  I wanted a slimmer shank so the diamond didn’t look smaller in comparason.  Also, the prongs are so tiny I don’t even notice them.  I like the security of the 6 prongs, and that it keeps the shape looking like a round and not a square cut.  I have a size 6 finger too, so your diamond will have a lot more finger coverage than mine does!

Swimstuff :  I think it all depends on the look you’re going for & what is it about an oval that you/she likes? If it’s the rounded edges, you’ll want to go with 4 prong. If it’s the elongated look of it, you’ll want to go with 6 prong. Also, I feel like a 6 prong could make the oval look a bit more more like a marquise cut. Obviously it wont make it look just like a marquise, but will definitely extend the oval ends, if that’s the look you’re going for. Definitely lots to consider!

LOVE, I have a .8 oval four prong personally but I think the 6 will be beautiful too.
