Hive I need Help! I fell in love with this dress when I went dress shopping with my mom, my aunt, and my cousin/BM Amanda in St. Louis. The only thing is I hate the straight across neckline. Don’t get my wrong its great on some just not on me. It makes me fell like a line backer. The seamstress at the bridal shop said that she could make it into a sweetheart. Which is what I want. But this is something that if I do I can’t change my mind and have it let out. So I need your opinion bees. Help!!!

what about the you and the straight line doesn’t work.. I mean for me i dont have shoulders really so it works but my bff has broad shoulders so she def doesn’t dsnt like how the strapless straight line looks. I like the idea of a sweetheart cut as long as its minor like u’ve adapted in you picture. I don’t like the ones that look like a deep cleavage plunge. .. lol i think the way you altered it is nice!
I can’t wear too much of a sweetheart cut bc i have a larger chest and it just tends to make me look even bigger and its not very classy looking for a wedding dress on me.

My chest is huge. And it’s something I don’t hate but I don’t love. But I do have broad sholders. And when I look at it on me all I can see is a football player. I want something that will show off what God gave me without flashing everyone. It’s just something that I have always wanted. Of course I wont know untill I actually do it but I want to know that I am making a good choice. It’s really the only thing that is really stressing me out. My mom isn’t a huge fan but she thinks I show my girls all of the time. So what should I do???

It’s a fairly simple process and I’m sure seamstresses do it all the time. I generally think that sweethearts are more flattering on most people.
On another note, which bridal shop is it? I’m from St. Louis and got married there. I just moved to England about 2 months ago. 🙂 I probably went to every shop in StL when I was dress shopping.

Simply Elegant. The shop itself is beautiful and the staff there was wonderful. I even got a thank you card from them hand written by the girl who helped me find my dress. It was the best dress shopping experiance I’ve had so far. I still have to pick out my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses though. Crossing my fingers for luck.

I voted straight, but then I don’t love the sweetheart look. It confuses me why people always want them.

@MissDiamond: Ah, yep… I went there. The shop is beautiful but I didn’t find my dress there. I actually went twice (once for a La Sposa trunk show) and the 2nd time had this absurd saleslady who kept bringing me dresses with exactly what I told her I didn’t want. Overall, probably one of the better ones. Are you actually getting married in St. Louis? Or just dress shopping?

I’m always in favor of a sweetheart neckline, I think 99% of the time it’s way more flattering

Most of us “busty” girls look better in a sweetheart. Although, I will say, if your boobs are REALLY huge, I always think they look like they’re going to fall out in a sweetheat….which is not so bridal.
I agree with the shoulder comment, I have broad shoulders and straight across makes me look boxy. I have a modified sweetheart, so it dips, but it’s not as severe as you drew on that pic. Maybe that’s something to consider?
