i know this is a semi superficial post so you don’t need to tell me.
Ive been carrying Kate Spade bags for a long time and am realizing that the perception of them may have changed. I’m in the market for a new bag and am wondering if it’s just me or does the brand come across as something for younger women? I find myself feeling like I want something that presents itself as more adult. Am I alone in feeling this way? I’d love to hear opinions!

I’m not a fan but I say carry what you like. I think they go in the way of Coach or MK – the “luxe” brands for younger people or people who like nicer stuff but don’t seek out Gucci/LV/Chloe/etc. my friend gets gorgeous and unique bags from Etsy or Frye if you’re looking for a sleek leather bag without the price tag

It depends on the bag itself, not the brand for me. I love bags and usually buy more in the Gucci/Fendi category, but I also have a few Kate Spade bags that have beautiful prints or unique styles that spoke to me.

LOVE most of everything Kate Spade makes… Not because of the name, but the quality and style! I think that’s what matters most 🙂

I love Kate Spade designs, especially the bows, spades, and sequins but I worry that the brand will go the way of Michael Kors :/

I feel like kate spade used to be more of a “designer” bag, now it seems more in the “coach” category. But there are still some really nice designs, they are well priced, so if you like them, who cares?

I really like Kate Spade purses. I prefer them over Coach, MK, etc. Although I am carrying Coach right now.
In my opinion I would never spend more than $200 for a purse so designers are clearly not in my price range. But I also don’t want to waste money on a purse that will fall apart.
If I see someone old or young carrying Kate Spade I don’t think twice. I think anyone can carry a Kate Spade to be honest. They’re pretty timeless.

I don’t really consider anything anyone else has. If they like it they like it. I hate showy emblems like the Coach “Cs” and Michael Kors “MK” all over the purse. It’s not my style. I have Fossil handbags and Ralph Lauren that are just solid color leather and have a small emblem with the name.

Walked by a Kate spade store today and was reminded of the designers death. So sad.

Currently using a Kate Spade bag. I think they’re seen as “affordable luxury”. Personally I love the designs (classic with cute details) but I’m also in the target demographic of youngish/professional women. I used to carry Coach and MK. Left MK because of the quality and will probably go back to Coach for their soft leather bags once this one dies.

I used to buy mostly Kate Spade bags, or some Marc Jacobs. I dont know the pricing for Coach or MK bags but I’ve always thought Kate Spade was a step up from them, or at least the ones with all the C’s or MK’s on them, I’m not a fan of those. I’ve been purchasing LV bags over the last year, but I still have a couple Kate Spade bags that I wear out occasionally. I gave my mom one and she loves it. I think Kate Spade makes some nice, classic handbags.

I personally love Kate Spade bags. They are good quality and affordable which is a huge must for women like me who appreciate nice things but don’t want to (or can’t) pay the inflated prices of more luxury brands. I’m young and just getting started in my professional career, Kate Spade offers sophisticated bags without the hefty price tag so it’s perfect for me. I pay no mind to the age of the person carrying one of her bags, I just assume they appreciate quality and financial responsibility.

I don’t associate any certain age with KS. But I do find the brand very preppy and OTT girly, for ME.
The brand’s value has been dropping slowly ever since Kate sold it. Now it sits just above Coach in terms of reputation.
If I’m looking in that price range, I would rather buy a less watered down designer like Tori Burch.

Nothing- it’s just a bag.
