About 20% or so my Fiance says, to be honest he takes care of that kind of thing thank goodness.

Personally, I don’t think you have to tip all your vendors. 15-20% is expected for hair & make-up artists. But, usually DJs and photographers work for themselves so the fee you pay goes straight into their pocket (minus expenses, but still…). I mean, if they go above and beyond, by all means, tip them. Otherwise, I don’t think it’s necessary.

Becareful some vendors are already inclduing tip in the contact. Read over it before paying extra on top.

If the Photographer has an assitant they should definitely be tipped. This is one of the most overlooked tips. Those assistants are often college students working for either free or practically nothing to gain experience. I know because I had that job. Getting the rare hundred dollar tip was the only compensation I received on a few occasions when I was brand new to the industry. After a 12 hour day getting handed a little envelope was the greatest joy of my life back then. lol.

I tipped my hair stylist like 15% I think. Our DJ was a friend, so we paid for his hotel room, and we paid the photographer cash, so I don’t think my dad tipped him. I think my situation was atypical tho.
