I have a jar of jewelery cleaner – it works pretty well for me. I usually clean my rings about every 2 weeks and they are always sparkling! It was only like $5 at Bed Bath and Beyond.

I just cleaned my e-ring for the first time since we got engaged, two days ago. We’ve been engaged since September >.< YUCK, I know! I used a toothbrush and toothpaste, and also threw some dish soap in there and it is SO SPARKLY. I totally forgot how sparkly it is, lol.

If I’ve got nothing else, ammonia does for me in a pinch.

But DO NOT use it on non-diamond stones or if your setting isn’t gold.

My mother has been using ammonia on hers for years, and recently, mine, but we both have diamonds and gold.

Other stones, like gemstones or diamond substitutes, can be more porous than a diamond and the ammonia could hurt the stone.

Liquid handwash and a soft bristled toothbrush, and then a good thorough rinse off with cold water Smile

I had my ring professionally cleaned by the jeweler last weekend and I think my cheap solution does a better job Wink

It’s also good on my gemstones. I have an amethyst and a couple of topaz and they sparkle nicely with it.

I use all-natural dish soap and my ring’s tooth brush.

@Purple_Bride:  I use the same as you! The jewelery cleaner leaves a film in my opinion.

I cleaned it for the first time last week. Just some baking soda and water. Usually thought when I feel it’s looking dull I’ll just wash my hands with dish soap 🙂
