We just go out to eat for each other’s birthdays.  You’re over 12, right?  Therefore your birthday should be an adult celebration.  Unless it’s your 21st birthday, in which case it should be a crazy party.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want anything but a ring at this point. Hopefully it doesn’t take 6+ months for my bday to roll around though!

If you’ve been talking about getting engaged in the somewhat near future, just send him a pic of the ring! If he didn’t want to know what you really want then he shouldn’t have asked 😉

If I were waiting, I would not want to be proposed to on my birthday!  If that ended up happening, of course I would be ecstatic, though.  That being said, you could just tell him that you really don’t need anything special and that dinner is fine (or go do something fun).

I asked for a camera for my upcoming birthday in the hopes that I could use it for ring pictures soon. 😀

I definetly asked for a ring on my birthday, that just passed like a week ago. We had been discussing engagement and my ring for a while though, so I didn’t out of the blue just tell him that’s what I wanted, lol. Some unexpected expenses got in the way of him giving the ring to me on that day, but his tax return should make up for it. I expect it in the next few weeks, I hope!!

Honestly?  A proposal would be quite nice, but I know that’s not happening.   My SO hasn’t ever gotten me a birthday present, even though we’ve been together for two of my birthdays so far.  I don’t actually mind, though.  I’ve never really been big on celebrating my birthday, or on receiving gifts.  I like giving them, though!

My parents usually take me (and a friend, now my SO) out for dinner sometime around my birthday.  That will probably happen this year.

I don’t want anything for my birthday. Wishing me a happy birthday is enough for me.

If its a special birthday like 21,30,40 etc  celebrating with dinner and flowers will do me. Presents are for kids as far as I’m concerned

@Booknerd:  I’ll be 28 and I was far from ready when I was 24 (I got engaged and broke it off at 24 because I was not ready nor was I with the right person). Take your time!

@emmalyn:  People keep telling me that but we’ve been together for 2 1/2 years and we know it’s right, but for me, I just can’t believe I’ll be 24.  It seems like yesterday I was a freshman in high school!

Welp, I just found out I won’t be getting engaged this birthday. It’s a good thing my dog is so photogenic! :/

@Booknerd:  I’m turning 24 and I know just how you feel! My SO is older so I always figure we average out to the “usual” engagement age anyway.
