I’ve been looking at the “leaked” Black Friday ads online and I’m a little disappointed in the items so far. It seems almost exclusively tvs and jewelry to me.
I was hoping for some great video game deals (Wii especially) for DH’s Christmas present, but that hasn’t seemed to work out so well yet.
What are you hoping to score on Black Friday? Or do you avoid it at all costs?

@soonerpsych: I avoid the morning rush like the plague. I made the mistake of going to the busiest Walmart in the area 2 years ago on Boyfriend or Best Friend and almost got into a fist fight with some crazy B over a Hannah Montana guitar. It was SOOO not worth it. Last year I did all my Boyfriend or Best Friend shopping from the comfort of my couch. I got the same deals online as they had in the stores and all I had to do was make my “shopping carts” the night before and get up a few times that night to submit orders. In total I spent about $20 more than that I would have if I went to the stores because of shipping but I would have paid triple that to avoid the Boyfriend or Best Friend craziness.
As for this year, we’re hoping to score our wedding bands and maybe a TV for FI’s parents but we’ll see about that last one.

@UpstateCait: Such a good idea.
I’m not sure how much shopping I’m going to do. I haven’t really looked through fliers but I’m not entirely sure when/if I’ll get them b/c I don’t get the local paper. Who knows, maybe I’ll search for online fliers?

@beekiss2: I don’t get the local paper either. Here’s a preview I found online: http://www.blackfriday.info/sales/
@UpstateCait: Ugh, I hate Walmart any time any day. That place makes me go crazy.

@UpstateCait: You are my new favorite poster! I never even thought about buying our bands that day! Sweet!!

I would love a new LED tv for our living room, but there hasn’t been a *deal* worth going through all that madness for. Only electronics get steeply discounted enough to maybe get me moving, but I rather way a few more months until the model is a little older and the same deal can be had somewhere online.

You couldn’t pay me enough money to go shopping on Black Friday. In fact, I hate shopping in general. I do just about all of my holiday shopping online. Heck, I got just about everything for our wedding online too!

I looooove black friday. In my town though, there’s no crazy rush. Our stores are always adequately stocked, and I’ve never run into problems. Last year I scored a queen sized down comfortor for $30 from Macy’s, and a Blu-Ray DVD player for $80 (normally $200), as well as a free standard DVD player.
I usually just wait until Thanksgiving to plan my attack though. The FH and I usually go with his mom, because my mom won’t let anyone go with her (she gets ALL of our gifts on black friday).

I am really hoping to be able to hit a Best Buy on Black Friday to get a digital camera. Hopefully the area that I now live in, isn’t crazy like the one i previously lived in.
