I’ve been out of university for six years now (eek!) and I’ve been trying to figure out what I really want to do since then.  I think I’ve decided that I want to work in TV development.

I think.

If it’s anything like what I imagine it to be, I’ll love it.  I’ve sort of been skirting around trying it out because I was working in another field, but I quit my job and moved across the country so now’s my chance!

(p.s. I have worked in the film industry since leaving uni).

I’m finishing up my Doctor of Pharmacy program and am really looking forward to starting classes for a Master’s of Public Health degree as soon as it’s feasible.  I’m hoping to work primarily in academics, but also work to set up community health programs as well.

Right now I am a high school English teacher. I really want to work in the bridal and prom dress industry. I want to own my own shop, but I am unable to justify such a financial risk.

@pumpkinpatch: Thanks!  I just love reading scripts and imagining the way a story or idea would turn out.  Being able to create a program by choosing its tone, imagery, characters, cast, director and things like that, sounds right up my alley.

I’m so glad you’ve discovered what truly makes you happy.  Just by enjoying what you do, you’ll do a world of good.

Sometimes I feel like ‘entertainment’ is so… superficial.  But I really enjoy it!

Honestly, my dream job is to just run our business. Fiance owns an independent mac and iPhone development company which is growing everyday. Hopefully by this time next year we will be stable enough for us both to quit and work on that full time. We technically are to the point now where Fiance could quit and we could still be comfortable but with the economy and our wedding next year, we both think its wise to remain employed until after that. Having a guaranteed paycheck every week is pretty crucial.

I’m currently an auditor and I DEFINITELY don’t want to do that forever.

I thought I wanted to be a CFO of a company, just basically be high up there as an executive but after working in this business and seeing all the ugly politics, I really just want to do this part-time and be a mommy one day. (I thought I would never say that!).

@pumpkinpatch: Exactly! I know a few people who are nurses and they work the 12 hour, 3 days a week shift. They have plenty of time to be a mommy, it is a great schedule. I have often thought of switching my career from finance to nursing! lol. I came to realization after I got out of college that family is so much more important. The companys I have worked at, employees are so expendable. Good thing Fiance is on board with the part-time.

My dream job is working in the Healthcare field ๐Ÿ™‚ I was a hospital intern for a summer and knew I had found my place! I am finishing up the requirements for PA school, but also considering the NP route. I hope to one day specialize in Women’s Health.
