I love the cool wick stuff! Nike running shorts are the best. Check our the Nike outlet if you have one near you!

I used to swear by nike. still love the tempo shorts and capris for running in the warmer months but I picked up a few shirts, sports bras and a jacket from the champion line at target last time I was in the states and I’m really surprised at how nice they are.  I only paid $3 for the shirts bc they were on the clearance rack!

I second the outlet suggestion. Adidas and Nike both have great running stuff in their outlets. I actually always run in cotton tank tops when it’s warm or when I’m at the gym. I know they’re not meant to be the best, but I find them most comfortable.

The Champion line at Target is great. You can also get some good deals at TJ Maxx/Marshalls type of stores.

I have a few good pairs of running shorts and capris and I swear by them. I can’t go back to running in yoga pants, which I used to do! Nike all the way for capris, and shorts you can find by just about any manufacturer.

I love buying new running gear!

I love Under Armor… mostly because there is an outlet nearby.

Most important are good running sneakers though, so definitely make sure you have good ones that you aren’t breaking in for the race!

I second the Marshalls/TJ Maxx/Ross stores; they frequently carry nice running gear, like Nike, Puma, Adidas, etc, for a fraction of the price.  Target, Gap, and Walmart (the Danskin line) also have decent stuff.  Gap even has a new line of pretty technical running gear; it’s not cheap on it’s own, but they always are running 30% off promotions online, so you can save a bunch.

@savealife: “Aren’t breaking in” as in “broken in” or “this isn’t the day you break them in.”  i.e.: great shoes you’ve worn many times running 🙂

I was trying to say: invest in a really good pair of running shoes, but wear them a bunch as you practice.  Never make the mistake of wearing a new pair to a race!

Lululemon!!  I used to run in cotton Ts and cotton capris and I was always super uncomfortable.  I got some amazing spandex capris from Lululemon and they are a game-changer.  I swear I can run faster.  And even if you don’t have the most confidence, they will give you a rockin shape!  They fit a bit higher so you don’t have that muffin top (if you have one) and they hold everything in place when you run.  I would seriously spend all my $ there if I didn’t have more self control.

I can’t run unless my pants are tight. I stick to yoga type pants. My shoes are Nike run. Can’t wait for it to get warm again

I run in spandex-type capris and dry-fit shirts.  I really don’t care about the brand though – I have a little it of everything.

Athleta!  The Odyssey Chaturanga™ Yoga Knicker capris are the best and very slimming.
