Darling Husband and I have our catholic convalidation in 1 1/2 weeks…what do you wear? Can’t really find any refrence to this online. Not doing anything fancy obviously…going out for a meal after. We had civil marriage with just us and 2 whitnesses due to pregnancy and being on bed rest at 4 months…running 2 of everything was getting WAY too pricy with me being unable to work. Any suggestions?

Are you having your own private ceremony? Or will this just be part of a Sunday Mass? I’m sure that nice clothes would be appropriate either way, maybe a skirt or dress for you and a suit for your Darling Husband, unless you’ve discussed with your priest other things. (Some people have a convalidation that more resembles a typical wedding in which you might wear a fancy white wedding dress, but I believe that is more rare, and I’m sure wouldn’t be appropriate unless you’ve already discuessed that with the priest.)

Something akin to what you’d wear to Easter mass would be great, lucky you with it being spring you have tons of options. Good luck to you and congrats!

Here is an example of what both the bride and groom wore at their convalidation. It’s a simple dress for the woman and a shirt and pants for the man.

For ours, my Darling Husband wore a suit, and I wore a nice skirt and top. Congrats to you!
